Tackling global water supply challenges with innovation

Through advanced technologies, visionary strategies, and the unwavering dedication of our community, we are reshaping the narrative of water scarcity.

The majority of water used in cities

is discarded as waste

But recycled water can be cleaner than traditional water sources, is typically cheaper than desalinated water, and less energy intensive.

Recycling water can remove the need for water imports

Our objectives directly address the UN Sustainable Development Goal of clean water and sanitation as well as the NAE Grand Challenge of providing access to clean water. The solutions we seek will balance water quality objectives with energy, nutrient, and resource extraction as well as environmental aspects associated with residuals disposal. Through rigorous research, community engagement, and education, our center explores and implements sustainable and equitable solutions to ensure the availability of clean water for generations to come.
