"Unless Something Goes Terribly Wrong" Screening at USC
The ReWater Center was delighted to host a screening of the documentary Unless Something Goes Terribly Wrong directed by Alexander Wolf Lewis. This documentary follows wastewater operators in Portland, Maine as they face crises due to their aging infrastructure and new regulations. While this documentary focuses on just one system in the United States, the problems in Portland are not unique. Researchers at USC are actively working to address these problems through career training and scientific advancement,.
Before the screening, there was a career networking session coordinated by Alec Mackie which brought students from across the Los Angeles area to network with utility operators. The screening was then followed by a Q&A period moderated by Heather Collins, the Director of Water Treatment Operations at Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, with panelists Adam Smith, a Professor in the ReWater Center, and Martha Tremblay of the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County.
